
Brenton Drechsler
Brenton Drechsler is an emerging visual artist based in Adelaide, South Australia, on Kaurna Country. Born in 1981, Drechsler's artistic journey began with an Advanced Diploma in Fashion Design and Technology from TAFE SA (2006–2010), where he was named Student of the Year in 2010. He later pursued a Bachelor of Visual Art at Adelaide Central School of Art, graduating in 2022 with First Class Honours.
Drechsler's painting practice delves into themes of queer subjectivity, personal mythology, and the complexities of belonging. His works often incorporate motifs such as stripes, garments, foreign urban environments, and vintage cars, reflecting his exploration of identity and cultural narratives .
