7 times a Finalist in the SA Museum, Waterhouse Natural Science Prize, Adelaide based artist Jane Price presents a series of fine porcelain sculpture, in her signature style in which she pares down a subject and composition to its barest essentials, with an intense focus on mood, capturing the atmosphere of precise times in a day. Jane’s broader art practice includes sculpture and painting, where she works in abstraction, landscape and portraiture, with works in private collections in Park Lane + Mayfair, London as well as New York, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia. “Adelaide based artist Jane Price completed a degree in visual communication from the University of South Australia and a diploma in marketing. Her career spans working as an art director in advertising for well over a decade, in London, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. In 2002 Jane began working as a full-time artist, exploring painting and porcelain sculpture, and has been a Finalist seven times in the prestigious Waterhouse Natural Science Prize with the South Australian Museum, winning second prize for her bronze sculpture in 2009 – sculpture & objects category.
